NEXT PTA GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING: Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 7pm in the DOES Media Center. We hope you can join us! Mr. LaRoche will be providing information about Dayton Oaks' Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program as well as Community Circles. The PTA board will also be presenting options for the use of the extra money that was raised during the DOlFun Run! REFLECTIONS: Our PTA is participating in the National PTA's Reflection program this year. This is a wonderful opportunity for your child to submit original art work in the form of Literature, Musical Composition, or Visual Arts. If you haven’t already completed an interest form please contact Ellen Sowry ASAP at president@daytonoakspta.org. The deadline for submissions is Friday 11/30/18!

PTA WAIVER: Thank you to all the families that completed their PTA Waivers. This waiver is required to be completed once a year for each family and covers all PTA sponsored activities throughout the year. BOX TOPS/CASHBACK FOR SCHOOLS 2018: We have extended the current contest until December 3rd since there have been a few shorter school weeks in November!!! Some extra days to get those box tops in!!! Check the website for the new "Gobble" form in honor of Thanksgiving! We have a new exciting prize! Hyperkidz indoor playground has generously donated 2 free passes that will he prize choices in the Dec 3rd drawing in addition to the DOES t shirt choice, and chic fila gift card choice!!!
FOOD ON THE 15TH: Please help us stock up the shelves for our next delivery! Please send in your donations to school with your children or whenever you come into the school. Collection bins will be in the front lobby. These are suggestions. We will accept any item:
Kindergarten - grains - pasta, rice, mac & cheese, (no ramen noodles)
1st Grade - soups - canned or dried (low sodium)
2nd Grade- proteins - canned chicken, tuna, peanut butter, beans
3rd Grade - vegetables - canned peas, corn, mixed veggies, etc.
4th Grade- fruit - canned peaches, pineapples, oranges, fruit cocktail, etc.
5th Grade- breakfast items - low sugar cereal, oatmeal, breakfast bars
RECC- grains - pasta, rice, mac & cheese, (no ramen noodles)

HARRIS TEETER: Log onto www.harristeeter.com and click on the “About Us” tab. Under the “Community” link select “Together in Education” and follow the instructions. DOES school ID is 8552. Harris Teeter does not carry their designations over each year, so you MUST re-designate Dayton Oaks each year.
PTACHC (PTA COUNCIL OF HOWARD COUNTY): Did you know that our Dayton Oaks PTA is part of a larger, county-wide coalition called PTA Council of Howard County (PTACHC)? Its mission is to serve the 73 PTA groups of Howard County by creating a unified voice to advocate for children and education. The council meets monthly with members from each school to discuss important topics such as whether to expand various programs, such as JumpStart, which allows high school students to earn college credits while still in high school, overcrowding in our schools, and monitoring upcoming legislative issues that can impact our quality of education. Wanted! 3rd Grade and 4th Grade Photo Coordinators to take pictures of grade specific activities and ensure students are represented in the Memory Book.
