On Deck with the Administrators

Dear Dayton Oaks Families,

We have had a busy couple of weeks at Dayton Oaks, with opportunities for parents to visit our school, for different events.  Whether you enjoyed our Halloween parade, attended Math Night or will be conferencing with your child’s teacher next week, we appreciate your partnership and participation.  American Education Week also reminds us of the following: At the end of the day, the most overwhelming key to a child’s success is the positive involvement of parents. ~ Jane Hull.

As we come to the end of the first quarter, please take a moment to sit down with your child to celebrate successes and discuss areas for future growth.  We consistently communicate with our dolphins the importance of approaching challenging tasks with a growth mindset.  Your additional reinforcement of learning expectations is valued and appreciated.

This week we recognized all our support staff on Wednesday for Educational Support Personnel (ESP) Day! We are grateful for the amazing ESP who support students at DOES.  Our food service workers, nurses, secretaries, paraeducators, custodians, lunch/recess monitors, student assistants, and T.E.s all work hard to support our students and staff. We truly could not serve our students without them! When you see and ESP at DOES next week, please thank them for all they do!

Finally, as we approach the Thanksgiving break, I would like to thank you all for your support of Dayton Oaks.  Whether you are volunteering your time, donating towards a classroom event, or supporting your child with homework, we are thankful for all you do.  From Dayton Oaks to your family, we wish you are restful and Happy Thanksgiving!

Sincerely,
