A Letter From Your Principal
Dear Dayton Oaks Families,
Welcome to your school! At Dayton Oaks Elementary School, we are a school of F.I.S.H. – Friendship, Inclusion, Success and Happiness. We embrace this theme as they recognize and honor the many different ways in which everyone positively contributes to the school community. Academic excellence and social-emotional well-being of our staff and students are valued, as we seek to sustain a culture in which everyone feels a sense of belonging. Students engage in daily social emotional activities and families enjoy evening events such as math and reading night and Family Fit Night.
We are committed to increasing student achievement for all students, and ensuring our school environment is a positive place to learn. Students practice "Delightful Dolphin" behavior as they "DIVE" into learning by being Dependable, Involved and Organized, Very Respectful, and Effortful! The staff embraces meaningful teamwork and collaboration, monitoring data as they strive to assist each child to reach his/her fullest potential. Students strengthen their literacy and math skills throughout the day in all classes and have the opportunity to use technology as they learn new concepts.
Dayton Oaks has an active peer mentor and cross-age buddies program. Chorus, band, and orchestra provide students with an opportunity to excel creatively, while providing entertainment at various events. The PTA is an active partner with the school and hosts a recess walking program and a number of after-school activities, as well as cultural arts assemblies during the school day. Families come together to enjoy our annual ice cream social, Fall Festival, community coat and book drives, international night, movie night, bingo night, and other special activities throughout the year. Dayton Oaks Dolphins dive into learning every day!
I am so proud to be the principal at Dayton Oaks Elementary School. Our caring staff focuses on learning for each and every child, and with your active participation, we will ensure your child is well prepared for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
