Interim Superintendent Michael J. Martirano has announced a change in the designated make-up days for inclement weather school closings for the 2017-2018 school year. Friday, May 18, has been designated as an additional possible make-up day. Students are not scheduled to attend school on that date.
Presidents Day, a state-mandated school holiday, is no longer under consideration as a possible make-up day, because the state expects school systems to exhaust all possible solutions to make up inclement weather closings before requesting a waiver. Other days designated as possible make-up days include April 4, 5 and 6 and June 15, 2018.
A decision on the specific days to be used as make-up days will be made later in the winter, when more information about the total number of days needed will be available. Families, staff and the community will be informed as soon as the final decision is made.
