Award-winning, bestselling children’s book author, Chris Barton, is visiting Dayton Oaks Elementary School this spring! Some of his picture books include the 2017-18 Black-Eyed Susan nominee Whoosh!: Lonnie Johnson's Super-Soaking Stream of Invention, bestseller Shark Vs. Train, Sibert Honor-winning The Day-Glo Brothers, and Texas Bluebonnet Award Master List books The Amazing Age of John Roy Lynch (2016-17). His new books in 2017-18 include Dazzle Ships: World War I and the Art of Confusion, Book or Bell? and What Do You Do with a Voice Like That?, a picture-book biography of Barbara Jordan.
Chris will be presenting to all students at DOES on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 and will also be available to sign books. We will not be selling his books, but students may bring in books they own for him to sign. We are looking forward to this entertaining and educational event.
