Wednesday, October 24th - Unity Day
Dayton Oaks is celebrating Unity Day on Wednesday, October 24th! Students & staff will be invited to wear orange this day to show that together we can stand against bullying, united in kindness, acceptance, & inclusion. This is a great opportunity to empower your child to take a positive role in a bullying situation. Talk to your child and make an agreement, that if we see bullying happening we can choose to be an Upstander, someone who takes action, whether big or small. An Upstander can choose to not be an audience by walking away from the bullying, not laughing, finding an adult, changing the subject or distracting the audience, speaking up for the target, or chose to be nice to the target. We are looking forward to continuing to celebrate Bully Prevention Month through classroom lessons & school-wide events.
