Where do people go when they become homeless in our community?

In Howard County, homeless individuals and families go to Grassroots, which was started by college students to help people. Grassroots is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Last year, Grassroots received almost 39,000 hotline phone calls from people needing help and over 2000 people walked in to meet with counselors.

You and your child can help the homeless by contributing small change to Change Matters. The change collected will be used to improve the lives of homeless children and families at Grassroots. If you can donate, please have your child or children bring in change to place in the jar located in the ELA areas by Friday, February 1st and become a Change Matters Superhero!

Remember that you are never too young to show kindness and make a difference in the lives of people who need help in our community!
