PTA News Splash 10/4/18

Thu, 10/04/2018 - 2:06pm

We had a wonderful turn out at our first PTA General Membership Meeting last Wednesday 9/26!  Thank you to everyone who came out in the storm to support the PTA.  We were able to approve our budget for the year, which can be viewed on our website at https://daytonoakspta.org/publications/.

Our next General Membership meeting will be held on November 28th!  The mission of the PTA is to make every child's potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.  We would like to make sure that every family at Dayton Oaks feels welcome and included!  Please reach to out to our president, Ellen Sowry at president@daytonoakspta.org with any questions, ideas, or concerns you may have!

Join the PTAGo to the membership link on our website: https://daytonoakspta.org/membership/ to print the form or join online using PayPal.

sMILE Trackers (Golden Sneaker walk/run program): The grades have started their race across the map of the U.S with several leaving the state of Maryland.  Ask your child or check out the map in the school's front lobby to see the progress.  5th grade helped adult volunteers test out the "EZ Scan 2" app to track laps & sMILES.  After ironing out the kinks, we are excited to start implementing the program with all the grades.  Want to get in on the action?  Come help and cheer for your child on Thursdays during their recess.  Take the opportunity to enjoy lunch with them beforehand/afterwards.
