Culture Festival – April 26th! Call for Volunteers and Participants
Get ready for one of the most exciting events of the year! We’re thrilled to invite you to the DOES Culture Festival on Saturday, April 26th, from 2:00 to 4:30 PM. This is your chance to celebrate the incredible diversity that makes our community so vibrant!

The Culture Festival is all about coming together, sharing experiences, and appreciating the rich backgrounds that shape our community. Whether you want to participate, explore, or simply enjoy the festivities, we’d love to see you there!

DOES Culture Festival - AFRICAN FASHION SHOW!
Ms. Mwelwa Kostrick is putting together the following performance and is seeking participation from other parents/students:
Dance Form: African fashion Show (2-3 minutes)
Age Group: any age, any gender

SMile Trackers - THIS MONTH!
Who: All DOES 1st-5th Graders
When: April/May Tuesdays during Recess
What: Be Active! Run/walk laps with friends
Why: To HAVE FUN and Be Healthy and Earn Prizes!
Students will earn a prize each week they participate and ALL students who finish 10 laps by the end of the 6th session will be recognized on the morning announcements and earn a reward.
Volunteers Needed: All DOES adult family members are encouraged to volunteer for one or more recesses to support our students remaining active and healthy. Sign up to volunteer here.
5th Grade Yard Signs

There is still time to register for Spring sessions of our After School Programs.
April sessions for iCook, iSteam, Chess, Pickleball and Tennis have spots still open!
Remember that parent volunteers are no longer required!
Artist in Residence
We are excited to welcome Kevin Martin and Rockcreek Steel Drums to Dayton Oaks for a week-long residency at the end of April. We are in need of parent volunteers to help transport and set-up Mr Martin’s steel drums at DOES on Friday, April 28th and Friday, May 2nd. Sign up here!

The memory book committee is looking for clear quality pictures from events happening at our school.

Food on the 15th
Dayton Oaks Elementary PTA - Food on the 15th is collecting canned and/or non-perishable items all-year long and serving our local Howard County residents! Consider giving what you already have in your pantry and/or picking up a few items during your next grocery trip! Items can be dropped off anytime during school hours or the beginning/end of the school day, in the bins - located in the front lobby labeled “Food on the 15th”. Thank you for your continuous donations!

Ideas of items that you may donate (100% optional)
- Single serve container(s) (box, can, or bottle) of 100% juice
- Single serve canned, instant or shelf stable soup, stew, or casserole
- Canned meat or fish (tuna, ham, chicken) Individual serving of shelf
- Stable Milk or a can of evaporated milk
- Single serve cups or cans of fruits and vegetables
- Single serve cups of ready to eat pudding
- Single serve box of cold cereal or Single serve packet of instant hot cereal (oatmeal, cream of wheat)
- Single serve, sealed packet of dried fruits (apricots, prunes, etc.)
- Single serve packets or a small jar of peanut butter
- Single serve, sealed packets of crackers, cheese crackers, granola bars and/or snack bars
